Boston is one of my favorite cities in North America: the Freedom Trail, North End, Fenway Park, and Harvard Square (okay, technically, it is in Cambridge but just across the Charles River). It is also home to one of the loveliest public library, and numerous independent bookstores.
Bring good walking shoes because the city is compact and walk-able. If you get tired, hop on one of the oldest subway systems in North America, called the T locally. For some excellent Italian food, go to the North End.
