{"id":492,"date":"2016-02-19T14:46:54","date_gmt":"2016-02-19T14:46:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/saviowong.com\/travel\/?page_id=492"},"modified":"2024-02-12T04:58:48","modified_gmt":"2024-02-12T04:58:48","slug":"march-2013-dublin-galway-cliffs-of-moher-the-burren-and-dingle-peninsula","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/saviowong.com\/travel\/places\/march-2013-dublin-galway-cliffs-of-moher-the-burren-and-dingle-peninsula\/","title":{"rendered":"Dublin, Galway, Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, and Dingle Peninsula (March, 2013)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"Ireland\">I spent a week in Ireland during March Break in 2013. \u00a0The weather was unusually cold even for Ireland. \u00a0One unfortunate incident where I was pick-pocketed in Dublin didn&#8217;t diminish my enjoyment for the trip. \u00a0The highlights included a visit to the Long Library at Trinity College, day trips to the more rugged west coast, and a drive around the\u00a0Dingle Peninsula.<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/saviowong.com\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Ireland-wide-collage.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-461\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-461\" src=\"https:\/\/saviowong.com\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Ireland-wide-collage.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 2410px) 100vw, 2410px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/saviowong.com\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Ireland-wide-collage-300x149.jpg 300w, https:\/\/saviowong.com\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Ireland-wide-collage-768x382.jpg 768w, https:\/\/saviowong.com\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Ireland-wide-collage-1024x510.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/saviowong.com\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Ireland-wide-collage-624x311.jpg 624w, https:\/\/saviowong.com\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Ireland-wide-collage.jpg 2410w\" alt=\"Ireland wide collage\" width=\"2410\" height=\"1200\" \/><\/a><\/h2>\n<h4>Photo Albums:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/2013_Dublin_1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dublin Part I <\/a>\u2014\u00a0Dublin is a small city and there are plenty of interesting sites within the downtown area.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/2013_Dublin_II\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dublin Part II<\/a> \u2014\u00a0City Hall, Dublin Castle, Christ Church Cathedral, and St. Patrick Cathedral.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/2013_Trinity_College\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trinity College<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 the oldest university in Ireland. \u00a0Trinity college was founded in 1592 modelled after the collegiate universities of Oxford and Cambridge. \u00a0However, unlike Oxford and Cambridge, Trinity was the only college ever established. \u00a0So, University Dublin has one college: Trinity.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/2013_Galway\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Galway and Connemara<\/a>\u00a0\u2014\u00a0Galway is located on western Ireland. During the Celtic Tiger period (1995-2008), this was one of the fastest growing cities in Europe. Connemara is a district northwest of Galway.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/2013_County_Clair\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">County Clair: Cliffs of Moher and the Burren\u00a0<\/a>\u2014\u00a0It is difficult to capture the majestic Cliffs of Moher with my pocket camera. The tour in the Burren offers a glimpse of a working farm.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/2013_Dingle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dingle Peninsula<\/a> \u2014\u00a0When I asked my friends who have been to Ireland what sights I should not miss, Dingle Peninsula came up numerous times. There is indeed something magical there.
